Film review (by Marianna Giacomel)
The protagonist, Paolo (played by Edoardo Leo), is in his early forties when he receives a diagnosis that changes everything. By his side are his wife Michela (Teresa Saponangelo) and their eleven-year-old son Mattia (Javier Francesco Leoni).
Inspired by a true story, the film takes a delicate and surprising approach: rather than focusing on the illness itself, it highlights the value of human connection. Through moments of irony, tenderness, and small everyday episodes, the story follows a family’s attempt to stay united as time begins to shift and take on a different meaning.
The result is a deeply human narrative, capable of moving the audience without resorting to sentimentality. Every gesture—a laugh, a trip, an improvised life lesson—becomes a way of saying: I’m here.
Per Te is a film about memory, but above all about presence—about what remains when words blur and memories falter: love, mutual care, and the strength of human bonds.

This event is part of the IPN Cultura “Frames of Italy” program, curated by the IPN Cultura Team.
